Stiliani Moulinos was born in Athens, Greece, and moved to New York City at the age of eight. In 2009, she graduated from the University at New Paltz, where she studied Fine Arts, with a concentration in Ceramics

Having spend most of her childhood traveling between the Island of Kefalonia, and the City of Athens, Stiliani was greatly influenced by the the mountainous landscape of the Island, and water in Kefalonia, as well as the architecture, and great history of Athens. She was surrounded, and  greatly influenced by the works of Dimitris Mitaras, and Giannis Koutrikas a close family friend. We see these influences in her expressive painterly brushstrokes, intent full marks of the hand, in combination with a very tight, and well executed craft.

Stiliani has worked with many well known, and traditional ceramicists. From the ancient process of wood firing with Jeff Shapiro, to working in production with Alice Goldsmith Ceramics, where under Goldsmith she crafted wares for the Louis Vuitton stores in Hong Kong. Stiliani also prototyped, and crafted wares for Ellen Degeneres’ new line ED. Her last project, the installation for the lobby of the 1Hotel Central Park is a series of large oversized hand thrown porcelain rings that are suspended, and hang amongst large clusters of greenery. This harmony between the two is very symbolic of the clay’s natural process and metamorphosis from earth to stone in junction of the concept of the hotel itself 1.

Stiliani currently lives in Brooklyn NY, and works in out of Tribeca Potter’s Studio in Long Island City. She is currently working on her own line of wares under her name Stiliani Ceramica combines her influence, and background of painting, and sculpture into a high end wares, and is  projected to premier Spring of 2016.

She also loves her dog Elvis very much.
